In measures to counter this, a simplified version of Photoshop known as Photoshop Elements was introduced which has proven to be a perfect tool for beginners.<br /><br />How exactly did the Photoshop phenomenon begin? Photoshop development started in 1987 and was first introduced on the market in 1990. Adobe has continued to nurture and develop this product since, continuously implementing the advances in hardware power. Still today, to get the most from Photoshop, you should use purchase as much RAM as your budget will allow.<br /><br />Adobe has had some help in Photoshop reaching the acclaim that it has. Photoshop comes equipped with a plugin design that has allowed for various plugins to be obtainable for more advanced work. This includes some plugins that in fact cost more and do more than the original program.<br /><br />In this way, Photoshop is often used much like Windows, as a platform - and it would be a huge effort to get these plugins to run on any other software, making competitors effectively useless to anyone who relies on a plugin.<br /><br />Today, you can get Photoshop for Windows and Mac OS (both OS 9 and OS X).
